Hate is not directed at oneself

It may sound true —
but the complete truth runs much deeper.

“Hatred is directed toward others, not oneself —
yet its pain and destruction begin within.”

In reality…
when a person hates someone else,
the poison first spreads within themselves.

We may want to burn or destroy the other,
but in truth, we are nurturing that fire
within our own heart.

Think —
Who experiences the restlessness while hating?
Who carries the anger inside?
Whose peace is lost?

Often, the other person may not even be aware,
but we continue to burn
in the fire of our own hatred.

So the truth is:

Hatred appears outwardly,
but its roots lie deep in the heart.

And many times…
the hatred we project onto others
is actually a reflection of our own incomplete understanding,
insecurity, or dissatisfaction with ourselves.

But here is a deeper truth —
when we begin to see others as a part of ourselves,
hatred loses all ground.

And once this understanding arises,
hatred naturally begins to dissolve —
because it becomes clear that
we cannot truly hate anyone.

Where this realization exists,
the fire of hatred cannot ignite in the heart.

Yet this understanding is not simple —
it does not come from mere thinking,
but through proper guidance.

This experience becomes possible
only when one receives the blessing and guidance of a Murshid (Spiritual Master).
